Are you ready for another Night Crafters?  It's going to be a bittersweet gathering this Monday as it'll be our last Night Crafters at Ruiz.  We're moving back to Central!  But come to Ruiz for some doodling fun.  We have a special guest crafter, Carin Channing, who will provide doodling prompts and activites.  Carin explains why doodling is so important:

Humans are craving more tactile expression in this era of ubiquitous electronics. Visual expression is not just a current missing. Ever since the popularization of the personal camera, visual/drawing literacy has fallen away as a norm. And we haven’t just lost this specific skill. We’ve lost — and are craving — all of the benefits that come with it. To name a few: relaxation, visualization, innovation, authenticity, self-acceptance, memory and other brain function support, outside-of-the-box problem-solving, youthful joy, and freedom to make messes, mistakes, imperfections.

Please plan to arrive on time if you can.  We will have all of the supplies, no need to bring your own.  We even have some beautiful blank journals for you to keep.  If you can't make it out, check our booklist for doodling and journaling on your own time.

We'll be in the meeting room at Ruiz at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 25.  For more information, call Ruiz at 512-974-7500.  This is an adults-only craft program.  There are many family and children programs at the library, check the calendar for where and when.  Hope to see you on Monday!
