From the Shandong region of China comes the traditional folksong of Tiger Woman, adapted by Laurence Yep in his picture book by the same name. The main character is a grumpy, greedy and selfish old woman, who, through a series of magical mis-adventures, learns a lesson in generosity and sharing, from a wizard disguised as an old beggar.

This spring, Literature Live! is bringing this story to life through a table top puppet show of Tiger Woman. The show opens on February 5 and runs through April 25. The show is a very different style from previous productions, and is recommended for ages 5 and up. You can find showtimes at a location near you on our website. Watch our trailer below and check our previous post you will find resources for teachers and parents who want to get more out of this production!
