This workshop will explain, in simple language, how lenders evaluate mortgage loan applications, what they look for, what to expect, and how to submit an application that appeals to a mortgage lender’s guidelines. The workshop will discuss how to verify income and employment, monthly payments, and credit. Q&A to follow.

David Reed is a published author and columnist with more than 20 years in the mortgage banking industry and has closed more than 2,000 mortgage loans all across the country navigating consumers through the sometimes confusing process of getting a home loan. Reed will pull back the curtains on how to get approved for a new mortgage.

Austin Public Library has many resources for starting a business, such as online databases and workshops led by business professionals.
