Asian Pacific American Zine-Making

Come join Silk Club and the Austin History Center at the Asian American Resource Center for an afternoon of hands-on zine making and fun! Learn the history and art of zine making from Kristina Nguyen, Sandra Tsang, and Kelly Miau of Silk Club, an organization of Austin-based self-identified Asian American womxn/non-binary folks/femmes+ and authors of the bi-annual Asian American zine, QUIET! Participants will get to design and create their own page for a collaborative Austin Asian Pacific American History zine. Asian American Community Archivist, Ayshea Khan, will provide photocopied images and stories from the Austin History Center’s archives to remix alongside various crafting and zine making supplies. Feel free to bring your own zine-making supplies and images if you desire!

Note: This event will take place at the Asian American Resource Center at 8401 Cameron Road, Austin, TX 78754.
