Come As You Are Writing Series
1161 Angelina St.
Writing about yourself might seem easy; who knows your story better than you, right? But finding the best way to express your identity, experiences, and emotions can be difficult and daunting. This workshop aims to help demystify writing about the self. To do so, we first explore the basic elements of personal narrative by looking at a variety of examples that use form and medium differently to tell the authors' stories. You will then be encouraged to explore your own experiences and identity to craft the start of your personal narrative, leaving you ready to embark on your memoir or with the seed for a community building storytelling project. Led by Badgerdog teaching artist Mac Irvine, this workshops is free and open to adults, age 18 and up. Please register via Eventbrite as space is limited.
