"Random Thoughts." Print Making by Theresa Bond and Carol Hayman of Women Printmakers of Austin.
Join us for an exhibition and reception for two print-making artists of Women Printmakers, an organization dedicated to encouraging artists to actively pursue artistic expression through printmaking.
Theresa Bond and Carol Hayman are both active in the Austin print community, pursuing artistic expression through printmaking in various media.
The natural world serves as the muse for Theresa Bond. She uses intaglio, monotype, relief, and serigraph techniques to create whimsical images to address her concern for our society, our impact on nature, and the future of our planet. There is beauty in small moments; Theresa’s goal is to capture the essence of those moments.
The photo intaglio prints of Carol Hayman are based on photographs of real places from her international travels. She prints on polymer plates at Slugfest Print Studio using a variety of papers including French Arches BFK Reves, Mexican bark paper, and Japanese washi paper with Charbonnel inks. She tries to emphasize the mysterious that occurs in the ordinary, attempting to create an image that draws the viewer in closer for a deeper look and to express the notions of tranquility, harmony, and feminine strength.
