Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators

Interested in writing for children but not sure where to start?

Join Samantha M. Clark, author of the middle-grade novel The Boy, the Boat, and the Beast and regional advisor of the Austin chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), and Lindsay Leslie, chapter member and author of the upcoming picture book This Book Is Spineless, to learn about SCBWI and the resources it offers.

Samantha and Lindsay will delve into the different types of writing one can do for the children's market, how to get published, and the pros and cons of traditional versus self-publishing. In addition, they will provide details about a wonderful new scholarship designed to help lift and give opportunities to voices who are passionate about children's books.
