Tech Generation: Raising Balanced Kids in a Hyper-connected World

Austin Public Library is partnering with Collegewise and the Austin Psychology & Assessment Center to present this program

In this presentation, Dr. Mike Brooks will discuss how technologies such as texting and social media have such a grip on us, what effects technology is having on our brains, and strategies to help you and your family use technology in a more balanced way. Learning some of these strategies now will enable your children to be more successful in school and stay connected in deeper, more meaningful ways.

Dr. Brooks is a Licensed Psychologist and the Director of the Austin Psychology & Assessment Center (ApaCenter). He has a wealth of expertise in technology and gaming addiction, positive psychology, the needs of children and teens, and effective parenting practices. With three boys of his own, Dr. Brooks knows first-hand about the challenges of raising kids in a hyper-connected world! Tech Happy Life is his website devoted to this topic.
