Public libraries inspire and empower. Everyone is welcome. Almost anything can be explored.
Today libraries are more relevant than ever. Many people rely on the library for their only source of internet access, to apply for jobs, to continue their education, to learn more about their passions and to communicate with family. These are just a few examples of how libraries transform individuals and communities.
Everyone has something that they are passionate about – something they geek. Maybe you geek longhorns, live music or just keeping it weird. Check out our local Geek the Library photo album to see what other Austinites geek. Whatever you geek, the Austin Public Library supports you.
So share what your library does for you and your community. Keep the library vital by letting others know that you care. Read some common myths about Libraries. Spread the word that the Library needs everyone’s support. For more information visit geekthelibrary.org.
