Free Comic Book Day 2016 Redux

Comic book specialty shops and libraries across North America give away comic books every year on the first Saturday of May – Free Comic Book DayYou can visit the Library’s partner, Austin Books and Comics at 5002 North Lamar Blvd. and pick up a free comic book on Saturday, May 7. 

If you can’t make it on Saturday, drop by the nearest Austin Public Library on Monday, May 9 to get your free comic book. Comics will be available after 3 PM while supplies last. 

While you’re at the Library, check out our graphic novel sections for adults (call number: GN), teens (call number: GNY) and children (call number: GNJ). 

For comic book lovers, the Library offers a monthly Graphic Novel Book Club at the following two locations.

7 PM every 3rd Wednesday at Jo's Coffee, 242 W 2nd St
First Thursdays at the North Village Branch, 2505 Steck Ave.
