Join the Austin Public Library for Science Rocks! on Friday, June 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Willie Mae Kirk Branch (formerly the Oak Springs Branch), 3101 Oak Springs Dr. Science Rocks! features seven hands-on math and science exhibits for youth of all ages in the Trailblazer, a 40-foot traveling science venue. Experience The Power of Weather, Space Matters, The Miracle of Medicine, Energy for Tomorrow, Gyroscope, Magical Moments and The Need for Speed, all interactive experiments that foster a love of science. Kids will learn about exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) that will help nurture their curiosity of the world around them. Youth 10 to 17 years old will also have the opportunity to explore science and technology at the Willie Mae Kirk Branch's Discovery Lab funded by Dell’s Powering the Possible grant. There will also be a presentation by Wildlife Austin Park Ranger Erin Cord of the Austin Parks and Recreation Center. Science Rocks! is free and open to the public.
