Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
Threescore men and threescore more
Cannot place Humpty Dumpty as he was before
Do you recognize this rhyme? When Humpty Dumpty was first written it looked like this. According to Oxford Reference it was a riddle whose answer was “an egg”. Lewis Carroll made the egg called Humpty famous in the illustration of his book, “Through the Looking Glass.” Since that time we have always known Humpty as an egg. This month we celebrate that famous egg with Literature Live’s! show, “Mother Goose on the Loose!” and our Humpty Dumpty printable. Print out and follow directions to make your own clumsy egg, and enjoy this video of variations of the famous rhyme.
