Polish Poster Art: From City Streets to Gallery Walls

Presented by the Polish Film Society

October 19 – December 27, 2019
Central Library 6th Floor | 710 W. César Chávez St.

Polish posters offered subtle symbolism during a post-war era of repressive government. Art posters were not censored as they were not expected to pose threats to social order. The colorful posters played a significant role in modern visual design and culture before the emergence of commercialized movie posters.
