Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows Austin Public Library card holders access to books which are not available from the Library's collection. You can search the Texas Group Catalog using Worldcat Navigator from your library, home or office and place your own requests for books that we do not have at the Austin Public Library. Once submitted, the process can take up to six weeks. The service is free unless the lending library charges a fee. The Austin Public Library does not accept requests for DVDs, audio books, articles, microfilm, or music CDs. If the Texas Group Catalog does not have the title you are looking for, please contact Ask a Librarian, in case we can find relevant information for you in another source.
- Customers are responsible for lost or damaged books, and late fees charged by the lending library.
- Customers are limited to five transactions, including requests and check-outs.
- Customers' APL holds are included in the five-transaction limit. Make sure you have fewer than 5 APL holds before submitting an ILL request.
- Customers may only borrow books from the Texas Group.
- Customers with fines cannot request books. Message will say “unrecognized user”.
- Customers may not renew books.
