Have you ever wanted to learn the art of swing dancing? Join Nico Osier of Country Fried Dance and learn! Bring your friends and family and have a swinging good time! 

This program is for adults 18+ only please.

What is Centennial Swing?
Centennial Swing is a beginner-friendly dance session celebrating the history of 1920s–1930s swing dance in honor of the Austin Public Library’s 100th birthday.

What kinds of dances will we learn?
Styles may include: Charleston, Lindy Hop, Single-Time Swing, The Black Bottom, and The Big Apple

Do I need a partner?
Nope! You can come solo or bring a partner.

What will the class cover?
We’ll explore: A bit of swing dance history, Solo footwork, Dance posture, and Fundamentals of partner dancing

Do I have to dance a specific role?
Not at all! Nico is happy to dance either role and will help guide everyone.

Will there be resources to learn more?
Yes! Nico will share a few resources for anyone interested in continuing to learn and places around town where you can practice.

Is this beginner friendly?
Yes! This is a no-stakes, good-times kind of event designed for learning and having fun.
