2026 Austin African American Book Festival

Join us for the 20th Austin African American Book Festival on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM at the George Washington Carver Library and Museum. This free community celebration honors African American literature, storytelling, and creativity, and is open to all ages.

Be sure to visit the Kids Zone, featuring interactive programming designed to inspire the next generation of readers and storytellers. Young readers and families can enjoy special appearances and activities with award-winning authors and creatives, including Vanessa Brantley-Newton, Brentom Jackson, and SaulPaul.
