Healthy Living for Your Brain & Body
Results from the Alzheimer Association’s recent U.S. POINTER clinical trial found that certain lifestyle interventions targeting a combination of physical activity, improving nutrition, cognitive and social challenge, and health monitoring improved cognition in older adults at risk of cognitive decline. Learn about this new research and how you can incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. This program is presented by the community educator of the Alzheimer's Association Capital of Texas Chapter.

The Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter is located in southwest Austin and supports diagnosed individuals, their families and caregivers, and the professionals who care for them. They offer support groups, educational programs, individualized planning provided by master's-level clinicians, and community resource lists.
About the Presenter:
Brittany Brown has been a Volunteer Community Educator with the Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter for the last three years. She has five years of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in memory care communities, skilled nursing facilities, and private home health care. It is her passion to educate families during their difficult caregiving journey. She is honored to present this education series to the Austin Public Library patrons as a part of the Alzheimer’s Association's mission of "accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support"!
