Meet the Opera with Austin Opera and UT at Austin Butler School of Music

Austin Public Library is proud to host MEET THE OPERA, a children’s educational series partnership between APL, Austin Opera, and the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music!

This six-week series of weekly interactive workshops will be held at various Austin Public Library locations between June & July. Workshops will include live performance and interactive educational activities for children, with each workshop focusing on introducing a particular aspect of opera. Participants will learn about vocal music, instrumental music, stagecraft, dance, and storytelling. Each workshop will feature a short activity introducing the topic of that day’s workshop, followed by a creative project for participants, ending in a short performance!
