Taller de Son Jarocho: zapateado y jarana

Explore la música y danza de Veracruz, México, en este programa de cuatro sesiones con Los Fandangueros de Austin. Aprenda a tocar sones con la jarana y a bailar los ritmos del zapateado jarocho.

Los talleres son cumulativos, y se le aconseja participar en todos ellos para aprender mejor. Al terminar los talleres tendrá la oportunidad de hacer parte de una presentación en la Biblioteca, el día 30 de octubre.

Los talleres tomarán lugar el 26 de septiembre y el 3, 17 y 24 de octubre de 2 a 4 pm.

Use ropa cómoda y traiga una botella de agua que pueda llenar. Puede traer una jarana o guitarra, si lo desea. 

Todos los programas de la biblioteca son gratis, pero el cupo es limitado. Deberá hacer una reservacion para apartar su lugar. Las reservaciones están abiertas a partir del 5 de septiembre. 

Explore the music and dance of Veracruz, Mexico, in this 4-session workshop with the Fandangueros de Austin. Learn to play sones with the jarana and dance the zapateado rhythms of Son Jarocho. The workshops are cumulative, and participants are strongly encouraged to attend them all. After the workshops participants will have the opportunity to perform at a library event on October 30th.

Workshops will take place on September 26, and October 3, 17 and 24 from 2 to 4 pm.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring a refillable water bottle. You may bring a jarana or a guitar, if you'd like.

All Library programs are free, but space is limited. Registrations will open on September 5.
