Bird Crafternoon

Lights out, Austin! Migrating birds fly at night using the moon, sun, and stars to navigate. When we leave lights on at night, we cause light pollution that can throw these birds off course. Help our feathered friends by turning off any unnecessary lights when it gets dark. 

Join us for an afternoon of crafting other things to help our feathered friends. We will be painting birdhouses and making hanging bird feeders. 

¡Apaguen las luces, Austin! Las aves migratorias vuelan de noche y se orientan utilizando la luna, el sol y las estrellas. Al dejar las luces encendidas durante la noche, generamos contaminación lumínica que puede desviar a estas aves de su ruta. Ayuda a nuestros amigos alados apagando las luces innecesarias al caer la noche. 

Acompáñanos en una tarde de manualidades para ayudar a nuestros amigos alados; pintaremos casitas para pájaros y elaboraremos comederos colgantes.

El programa será principalmente en inglés, pero todos son bienvenidos.
