Book Repair: Paper Mending Demonstration and examples of different types of book damage with possible solutions

Mary Baughman, from the Austin Book Arts Center, will demonstrate techniques for taking care of treasured papers and books using materials that are easy to get in your neighborhood. Mary will show how to make paste for mending paper. Also on view will be a collection of damaged books and papers; Mary will discuss what happened to these materials. 

Mary worked in the Book Lab at the University of Texas Ransom Center for 40 years, and is now teaching at the Austin Book Arts Center. https://atxbookarts.org
