MARK

Join us for some experimentation and learn more about the diversity of mark making in reflection of our group drawing show Mark that displays a variety of mediums and mark making techniques utilized by 25 different artists.

Each participant gets their own paper and will sit at a table with a still life/collection of objects. Participants have the option to work from life, work from their own reference image or make a more expressive, abstract composition. 

For this activity, we will be using dice that display different types of lines and marks: dotted lines, horizontal lines, contour lines, shading, etc. Participants will roll the mark making dice to select a type of mark and line weight to use. Participants will have their selection of materials (pencil, pen, marker, crayon, colored pencil, soft pastel, charcoal) and color. 

Participants will be timed to roll the dice again every 2 minutes to develop a full composition displaying diverse mark making
