Varta: A Storytelling Festival Celebrating South-Asia

In partnership with the local non-profit Peerbagh, we're bringing back a storytelling festival inspired by South-Asia! Varta, derived from Vartalaap, which means conversation in Hindustani. On May 10th, join us at the Hampton Branch at Oak Hill Library for a storytelling festival that aims to create an inclusive space where all stories matter. 

Varta seeks to create spaces where families can immerse themselves in South-Asia inspired storytelling traditions including folk art, dance, music, and literature. Varta will include a Storytelling-themed visual montage and moving exhibit, author panels, storytelling performances, and engagement activities for children.
