Planting the Three Sisters Garden

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month

Wednesday, November 18 - 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Milwood Branch
12500 Amherst Dr.

Discover the traditional Indigenous practice of companion planting known as the Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash) and how these three crops support and nourish one another as they grow. Kids will decorate three take-home peat pots using tempera paint markers with nature-inspired designs and plant their own corn, bean, and squash seeds to care for at home. All materials are provided, and participants will take home their custom potted seeds ready to sprout!
