Join us for the Greater Austin Book Festival at the Central Library! GAB Fest provides a meaningful opportunity for authors, illustrators, and readers from Travis, Hays, and Williamson Counties to connect and engage with their community. 

  • Applications open: November 24
  • Applications close: December 31, 2025
  • Notifications by: February 1, 2026.

File requirements: We accept the following file formats: .pdf, .docx, .doc, .png, .jpg. Your file name must begin with your name, like so: LastnameFirstname. File size limit is 2 MB.
Festival Participation
Do you intend to sell books?

The Library is waiving the standard 10% fee so all profits from sales go directly to you. While we might invite bookstores to attend the 2026 event, we will not coordinate book sales.
What level of participation are you interested in?
Would you be willing to serve as a panel captain?

A panel captain is a member of one of our themed panels, who helps to coordinate with the moderator and other panelists, promote the event on social media, or even moderate the panel themself.
Eligibility and Confirmation

To be eligible to join GAB Fest 2026 as an author, you must answer "Yes" to all of the following:

I reside in Travis, Williamson, or Hays County
I am self-published, published by an independent publisher, and/or I published material through traditional publication means.
I am 18 years old or older.
