Austin Public Library Welcomes Hannah Terrell as Director of Libraries
Austin Public Library is pleased to announce Hannah Terrell as its new Director of Libraries.
The Director leads the Austin Public Library system, overseeing its operations, programs, facilities and staff. The position became vacant when former Director Roosevelt Weeks accepted a position as the director of Fort Bend County Libraries. Terrell has been serving as Interim Director since then.
The city commenced a nationwide search and interview process, which resulted in Terrell’s selection. She now holds the position of Director of Libraries on a permanent basis, effective December 15, 2025.
"It has been an honor to lead the Austin Public Library as Interim Director, and I am deeply grateful to now be stepping into the permanent role of Director,” stated Terrell. “I look forward to continuing this work alongside the brilliant staff at APL as we move confidently together into APL’s second century of service."
Austin Public Library will celebrate its centennial in 2026.
