Central Library Closure, March 12, 2026

Facilities staff were able to replace the part and repair the issue. The Central Library will reopen to the public at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 12.

Due to a plumbing system failure affecting the building’s water supply, the Austin Central Library will be closed to the public on Thursday, March 12.

Facilities staff are currently responding to the issue and are working to resolve the problem as quickly and possible. We will share updates as more information becomes available.

No other APL facilities are affected. You may find other branches on our Locations Page.
