How to land a job as a teen

1. Brainstorm and research job options - don't limit yourself to "teen" jobs like fast food.
2. Gain experience (and a reference) - small jobs and volunteering can help greatly.
3. Be able to name your skills - you have more skills than you might realize.
4. Get your documents together to apply - helps your application go smoothly.
5. Know how to ace your interview - interviews are the final exam (not a pop quiz).

  Want to gain a trade? Find apprenticeship opportunities in the Austin-area for skills like electrician, plumber and carpentry.
• ESB-MACC Teen Leadership Program (Caminos)
  The Caminos is a 1-year paid youth leadership program at the Mexican American Cultural Center.
• City of Austin Hight School Internship Opportunities 
  Youth Initiatives provides opportunities for Austin-area High School students to be placed as interns at various locations based on their future career interests.
• City of Austin Youth Career Fest
  The Youth Career Fest is an yearly event that brings together high school students to learn about different careers paths.

  The e4 Youth Organization has several different paid jobs for Teens, including their Creative Mentor and Shadow the Pros programs.
