Teen Magazine and Podcast

The Austin Public Library, in collaboration with the Library Foundation, has a Teen Library Fellowship. Teens in the Fellowship are paid to work on Community Action Projects, which include a magazine and podcast.

Mind & Matter - A Teen Voices Magazine

Digital issues will be available here by May 2026. Free print copies were mailed to every library location - ask your location's youth librarian for a copy or check out the digital versions on the Foundation's website! Copies will also be available for sale in the Central Library Shop later this spring.

Teens age 13-18 are invited to submit their writing, art, photography, comics, and more to the magazine - nonfiction and creative works welcomed! Submit your work here.

We want to hear about your passion. If you're a teen from the Greater Austin area, record something and send it to us, and we'll try to include it in an upcoming podcast episode.

If you have questions about these projects, please email kathleen.houlihan [at] austintexas.gov
