The Austin Central Library provides access to digital information, technology and community resources as well as traditional books. Located in the Seaholm EcoDistrict, a vibrant hub of residential, office and community gathering spaces that reflect Austin’s spirit of originality and soul, the Central Library serves as the backbone of the Austin Public Library system.

The Central Library features two levels of underground parking with 140 public parking spaces. The entrance is on West Avenue. The parking garage is open and enforced 24/7. Parking is not validated.

Other Downtown Parking Options

FotoATX is a new photography festival set to launch in January of 2018. FotoATX will inspire Austinites and tourists alike to experience our City’s unique character and voice through multiple photographic perspectives in sites all over town. The program, a collaboration between the Cultural Arts Division, the City’s Museum and Cultural Arts Centers of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, The PrintAustin Festival and our other community partners, was developed to showcase the abundance of talent here in Austin and to promote the City as a vibrant destination for visual arts tourists.

Austin Originals: Portraits of the People That Shape Our City

Austin-native George Brainard exhibits portraits of the musicians, artists, journalists, and other icons that make Austin unique. His photographs reveal connections, secrets and insights into the incomparable cultural engine that powers Austin life. Many images appeared in Austin Monthly magazine, and some are exclusive to this show
