Between Two Worlds Book Club
Tevye the Dairyman
2200 Hancock Dr.
Join us to discuss Tevye the Dairyman and Motl, the Cantor's Son by Sholem Aleichem, widely considered to be the most popular Yiddish writer. The story of Tevye inspired the famous Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof UT Austin Germanic Studies, while the story of Motl captures the struggles, hopes, and triumphs of Jewish immigrants to the US at the turn of the 20th Century. Dr. Itzik Gottesman, lecturer at UT Austin's Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies, will moderate this discussion.
