books with pages fanned out

Milwood Classics Book Club

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

It may just be the most famous book about book banning, and a book banned itself. Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 explores a world where books are burned by professional firemen under the authority of a state that sees literature as an evil. But this book is about more than just state control, but about a population that has lost all interest in reading and education. Here, ideas are the enemy, and books are the delivery method. Come prepared to discuss the book and celebrate Banned Books Week with this act of defiance.

This work remains very popular and waiting lists for physical copies as well as ebook and audiobooks can be long.
