Virtual Read Watch Talk

The Stepford Wives

Literature purists will stand by the book. Film buffs will make a case for the movie. Either way, there is something to discuss. Take part in our movie-book club by reading and watching on your own, and then discussing the merits of each with us online.

For March's discussion we're diving into Ira Levin's eerie and peculiar suburbia, illustrated in his 1972 novel The Stepford Wives. This satirical feminist horror story earned two film adaptations--released in 1975 and 2004--and has become a cult classic in the genre. Feel free to watch either the 1975 or 2004 film (or both!) before we virtually gather to discuss our experiences in Levin's strange world.
