- Passport: Two payments:
- To U.S. Department of State: Check or money order only.
- Passport book: $130 (age 16+), $100 (under 16)
- Passport card: $30 (age 16+), $15 (under 16)
- Extra: $60 for faster service, $22.05 for 1–2-day shipping (optional)
- To City of Austin: $35 acceptance fee, $18 photo fee
(Credit/debit card, check, or money order. No cash.)
- To U.S. Department of State: Check or money order only.

- If your old passport was given to you when you were 16 or older and it expired less than 5 years ago (and it’s been under 15 years since it was first issued), you might be able to renew by mail.
If You Renew in Person
You must:
- Fill out Form DS-11 (Passport Application)
- Pay the $35 acceptance fee
We cannot take Form DS-82 for in-person renewals.

- Under 16: Child and both parents must come.
- Bring proof of parent/guardian relationship (birth certificate, court papers, adoption papers).
- If one parent can’t come:
- Notarized consent form (DS-3053) + copy of parent’s ID
- Court order for sole custody
- Birth certificate with one parent listed
Ages 16–17:
- Must show parent knows about the application (parent can come, pay, or confirm ID).
