History Center Moving into Faulk Building Starting January 2025
April 2025 Update:
Due to technological issues beyond our control, the Austin History Center will not be ready to reopen in our new space in April as planned. We don't currently have a reopening date, but we will update our website and social media as soon as we have more information to share.
In the meantime, we remain committed to providing as much access to our collections as we can. The bulk of our collections have been moved to the new building and are accessible to staff, but some items may still be inaccessible at this time. Additionally, staff are still working to get everything moved and unpacked and ready for reopening, so we have limited bandwidth for conducting customer research.
That said, we may be able to assist through our limited reference services, depending on staff and collection availability. This includes helping find relevant materials and, if applicable, creating and sharing access copies.
To learn more about what our reference services currently include and to submit a Research Request Form, please visit our Reference Services page.
As part of this transition, we paused new reproduction orders starting January 31 and anticipate resuming limited reproduction services on April 14. For more information, please visit our Reproduction Services page.
We appreciate your patience during this time of transition and look forward to assisting you soon.
