The Menchaca Road Branch is located in Council District 5 of the City of Austin.

The renovation project at the Menchaca Road Branch will include:

A redesigned and modernized interior layout for a brighter, more welcoming experience
New dedicated areas for children and teens
Literacy and learning zones with colorful design, floors, and shelving scaled to young children
Technology upgrades and infrastructure improvements
Updated furnishings, shelving, and finishes
Additional accessibility and sustainability improvements

Previous work at the branch has already included roof and HVAC upgrades, allowing this next phase of renovations to focus on improving the customer experience and functionality of the space.

Austin Public Library encourages customers who regularly use the Menchaca Road Branch to visit nearby locations during the closure, including:

Twin Oaks Branch Library
Pleasant Hill Branch Library
Hampton Branch at Oak Hill Library

You can print from a public computer or your device at all Austin Public Library locations, except the Austin History Center and Recycled Reads. The cost is $0.20 per side. Black-and-white, letter-sized (8.5 x 11") only. We do not offer color printing at this time. Customers may not bring their own paper for printing.

Print from a laptop or device: Choose your Austin Public Library location then upload your file OR email it as an attachment.

Pay for and release your prints at any Self Service Print Station with a credit or debit card for any amount or cash up to $5. Cash payments over $5 can be made at the Circulation Desk.
